FAQ

  • What are open enrollment classes?

    • Open enrollment means there is no specific end date to the class. Once they start they'll go on indefinitely rotating the same 8-week curriculum over and over.  You and your dog can jump in anytime there's an open seat in a class with the day of the week and time that works for you. At the end of 8 sessions you'll graduate out to move on, or you can choose to continue at that level.

  • What's the difference between open enrollment and set schedule classes?

    • Open enrollment has a start date but no end date. They will be held whatever day and time the class starts and run indefinitely. Also open enrollment classes can be joined anytime there is an open seat. Set schedule classes have both a definite start and end date and cannot be joined after official start date.

  • What if I miss a class?

    • If you are going to miss any class please try to let us know ahead of time, however we understand emergencies happen.

    • If you've missed an open enrollment class simply come the next week and pick up where you left off. Life happens and that okay. Everyone has 11 weeks to complete their 8 sessions; after that you will lose your seat in the class if previous arrangements have not been made. If you miss two classes in a row you're seat will be given away. If your seat is given away, for any reason, you can request to be put on the waiting list to re-enter class.

    • A missed class in a set schedule class will need to be made up before the next weeks meeting. Missing more than one of the classes is not advisable and will most likely put you very far behind in class. Only 2 classes will be made up.

  • What happens when the classes get full?

    • When it is an open enrollment class that is full a wait list will start. If classes are staying full more than 3 weeks out at a time a new time and day will be added to the list. As people graduate and move on to the next level the person at the top of the waiting list will called to step into class. If any other class or seminar is full, then it's full. However, we will happily put you on a list to be notified when the next class or seminar with the same curriculm is set to start.

  • What if I graduate an open enrollment class, but want to continue training at the same level and not move on?

    • If the class as an open seat you're welcome to fill it. However, if there is a waiting list you'll be moved to the bottom of the waiting list and rotated in like everyone else. You are welcome to pick a different class day and time with an open seat or shorter list if you choose to do so.

  • Do I have to pay for the class again if I choose not to move to the next level of training?

    • The School will allow you to take the 8-week class one more time free of charge if you and your dog are not ready to move on to the next level.

  • None of the current group class times work in my schdule what can I do?

    • Please let us know so we can be conscious of that the next time a class is added. In the mean time we do offer private classes that can cater to your schedule.

  • Why are some classes open enrollment (having no specific start and end date) and some classes aren't?

    • Doing some classes as open allow for you to get more exposure to the most diverse set of other dogs and people. It also allows you to start much sooner than other scheduling formats. Some classes however will require more structure and a curriculum that builds on itself.

  • What do we do in an orientation?

    • A lot actually.

    • We'll evaluate you and dog to make sure the group you're interested in is the best fit. If it is the right fit we may start your first commands so you're prepared when you start in your group.

    • We'll allow your dog to get familiar with the training space before it's filled with other dogs.

    • You'll take care of all the paperwork and billing so when class starts all you have to do is show up.

    • We'll start your training file to keep track of progress.

  • What shots do you require?

    • Up-to-date rabies given by a licensed vet or animal shelter. For safety reasons self administered rabies will not be accepted. Tags are not enough. We will need to see something with a month/year for expiration or be able to call a vet and varify.

    • DHPP (distemper, adenovirus (hepatitis), parainfluenza, and parvovirus)

    • While it is not required we do recommend that you get a bordella vaccination also.

  • What is the refund policy?

    • The School reserves the right to refund fully, partically, or not at all, based on the circumstances for discontinuing service.
